This page contains information about tailoring the Cre/lox recombination system to the mammary gland using the WAP gene promoter or the MMTV-LTR.
WAP-Cre and MMTV-Cre hybrid genes were generated by Kay-Uwe Wagner. Transgenic mice
harboring the WAP-Cre transgene were generated by Bob Wall (USDA in Beltsville) and the
MMTV-Cre construct was injected into mouse zygotes in the laboratory of Tony Wynshaw-Boris
(NIH).

Three new WAP based mammary expression vectors with loxP sites were generated which can be used with these Cre expressing mice. For mice expressing Cre under the BLG promoter see Stefan Selbert's BLG-Cre page.
