15. Adenomyoepithelioma
Composed of spindle-shaped myoepithelial components and ductal elements. Spindle cells are reactive
for keratin and actin and can in this way be distinguished from sarcomas. These tumors contain mucin
which is apparent when cutting fresh specimens. Further differentiation of ductal cells (sebaceous
glands and follicular structures) or myoepithelial cells (cartilage, bone, connective tissue) can be
observed on transplantation of these tumors. Also referred to as 'Adenocarcinoma type C',
'Fibroadenoma', 'Carcinosarcoma', 'Mixed tumor'
